Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to show how an instrument to monitor
the acquisition of teamwork abilities of students of education majors was
created. To have a wider range of teamwork abilities does not only help to
improve teaching and learning, it also helps coordinating with the rest of
the staff of the schools. Initially, the profile of the graduated in education
professionals was analyzed by experts and a teaching board and, later,
validated by the teaching staff. Then, an instrument (in affirmation format)
was created for teachers to mark in a 4 point Likert scale their choice
of preference. Currently, the instrument is about to be used with a new
graduating group of education majors. With the implementation of the
instrument to this new group, information should be gathered to analyze
data about the development of different skills needed to work in teams
within the pedagogical context.
