THE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT NEEDS IN THE ENGLISH TEACHING

The purpose of this article was to determine perceptions of the professors about knowledge management from an integrative approach, in order to achieve the improvement of the process of teaching English as a foreign language at a university institution. Aspects outlined from the theoretical conceptions of Stankosky (2005) and Larsen-Freeman (2013) were considered, and core elements were proposed from a systemic perspective. For this reason, the qualitative method of a case study was employed. The techniques applied were observation and interview, and as instruments the questionnaire and the logbook were utilized. The results have shown that there are some constructs that prevail in a prominent way, for which they could be approached as a proposal for a knowledge management design focused on the improvement of the English teaching process.
