Abstract

Reading is, without a doubt, one of the theoretical concepts of greatest significance and approach within the field of social sciences. It is enough to briefly review the current bibliography that deals with a number of definitions, trends, models and studies around reading to realize this. Within this context, one of the works that addresses the need for mediation and promotion of reading is, To read is learned by reading, by the Venezuelan writer Rod Medina. This author born in Caracas in 1965 is a teacher by profession. In addition to being a writer, poet, mediator and promoter of reading, he is also a founding member and coordinator of the Collective of Girls and Boys Readers l@s comelibros, producer of audiovisual microprograms and member of the Colectivo tvlecturas, among others.

Ríchard José Sosa Villegas, Unidad Educativa “Josefa Irausquín López” (Baruta-San Luís)

Profesor egresado del Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, en la especialidad de Castellano, Literatura y latín. Se desempeña como profesor en el área de idiomas en el Instituto Santo Tomás de Aquino. En la actualidad, cursa la Maestría en Lectura y Escritura en su Alma Máter desarrollando un trabajo de grado sobre la enseñanza del ensayo argumentativo en Educación Media General. Ha publicado artículos en revistas nacionales. Fue director en Instituto Náutico "Almirante Lino de Clemente. Ha diseñado y aplicado proyectos de aprendizaje, dictado talleres en el área de redacción y ortografía. Asimismo, laboró como docente de aula I desde el año 2017, en la U.E.N “Josefa Irausquín López”, adscrita al Ministerio del Poder Popular para la Educación.
