Abstract

The training processes in school spaces are shown as a support for the integral development of the subjects, based on this, there is evidence of an interest on the part of teachers to pay attention to the skills of the students, based on this, the present investigation has been generated whose general objective is: To propose the strengthening of language development through reading comprehension to improve the academic performance of primary school students, for this, a process framed in the quantitative approach was carried out, for this, a quasi-experimental design was worked, where the application of information collection instruments was achieved questionnaire type, from scale modality, where it was possible to link knowledge regarding reading comprehension and academic performance, based on this, it was possible to show as a result that one of the situations that has to do with low academic performance is the poor language development that primary school children present, specifically those in fifth grade, this occurs because for example reading comprehension has been seen as a content to which students give little importance, in this sense, It requires teachers to adopt appropriate methodologies for developing training processes geared toward developing appropriate language skills. In conclusion, it is evident how language development is partly driven by reading comprehension, and this, in turn, has a positive impact on improving academic performance among primary school students.
