Abstract

This research was conducted in a dispersed rural setting at a public school in the municipality of Aguachica, Cesar. The objective of this research was to determine how students manage their emotional skills in vulnerable environments. To complete the research, an interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach and phenomenological method was used, utilizing field diaries and semi-structured interviews with children and young people between 12 and 17 years of age. The information provided was processed using research software to determine that the acquisition of socio-emotional skills is key to the management and regulation of interpersonal relationships. It was determined that the management of socio-emotional skills in adolescents in vulnerable situations is crucial to promoting their well-being, resilience, and social adaptation. To conclude this article, recommendations for future research and the development of new intervention strategies are presented.
