Abstract

This article presents the results of a pedagogical intervention aimed at strengthening volleyball instruction at the Colegio Pedagógico de los Andes in Cúcuta, Colombia. Although Physical Education is characterized by its practical approach, in the school context, volleyball learning can be affected when essential elements such as the rules, understanding of the game, and technical fundamentals are not consolidated. Therefore, a digital educational resource (DER) was incorporated as a teaching aid to complement sports practice and reinforce key theoretical content of the sport. The research was conducted using a descriptive quantitative approach, with a population of 70 students and a sample of 12 sixth- and seventh-grade students. The process was structured in four stages: diagnosis, design, implementation, and evaluation. Pre-tests and post-tests were also administered to compare performance before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in overall performance, increasing from 39.9% to 75.8%. Specifically, the most notable progress was seen in the conceptual dimension (history and rules), while the technical dimension showed more moderate progress. In conclusion, the experience demonstrated that the RED (Research and Development Network) functioned as a relevant strategy for pedagogical innovation to revitalize volleyball instruction in school physical education.
