Abstract

Critical contributions to understanding teachers' mental health emphasize the pedagogical and experiential work within school environments. Therefore, this must be considered today, as it is one of the factors that poses the greatest risk to teachers' mental health. This includes the school climate, the organizational dynamics of each institution, the lack of attention given to the topic, the distribution of curricular activities, and the approach taken from the different institutional needs that teachers face. The school climate is presented as a major variable related to pedagogical constructs and extremely important factors such as administrative support according to the hierarchical order and social contributions in terms of quality and support to guarantee the different needs in educational institutions. If these elements are not properly redirected, we can foresee an inevitable breakdown within educational institutions, and we may fall into the trap of overloading the role of many teachers, affecting their emotional and mental health. This represents a negative threat since the physical, emotional, and mental performance of teachers unconsciously undermines their work and performance within each institution. Mental health and school climate are closely related due to the school environments that teachers currently face. If we think critically, we could rethink the school model and foster humanizing educational communities where care, dialogue, and well-being are fundamental pedagogical principles for teachers.
