Abstract

Today, the development of critical thinking is fundamental within the comprehensive education of citizens demanded by society, an information society and, paradoxically, a society of misinformation, increasingly subject to the dominance of the digital world, social networks, and artificial intelligence; which requires individuals with autonomous thinking, capable of discerning, amidst a diverse ocean of content, what is truly beneficial for their personal growth and professional development. In this vein, the article analyzes, based on the authors' discernment and research experience (supported by theories, research, and various bibliographic sources), how emerging technologies based on artificial intelligence, integrated into classroom teaching for elementary and secondary school students, can contribute to the development of critical thinking through the analysis, synthesis, and interpretation of information, and the comparison of data using digital tools and artificial intelligence. It emphasizes the need for pedagogical designs and technology management plans that foster collaborative work and continuous reflection focused on the ongoing evaluation and questioning of the content developed.
