Abstract

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effects of a sports intervention program mediated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the psycho-emotional development of preschool children at the "Enriqueta Arvelo Larriva" National Educational Unit, located in Mijagual, Rojas municipality, Barinas state. The study was based on the feasible project modality, supported by quasi-experimental field research with a pretest and posttest design. A total of 66 children between 3 and 5 years of age participated, distributed into an experimental group (n = 33) that received the "Jugando Crezco" program and a control group (n = 33) that continued with the regular curriculum. The 12-week intervention integrated structured sports activities with the GoNoodle digital platform, specifically designed to stimulate motor, cognitive, emotional, and social dimensions. The results showed significant improvements in the experimental group compared to the control in the dimensions of self-esteem (d = 1.29), social skills (d = 1.37), and emotional regulation (d = 1.16), with a global effect size of d = 1.64$. Furthermore, it was found that home use of the ICT platform functioned as a significant covariate, explaining 27% of the additional variance in post-intervention psycho-emotional development. It is concluded that the pedagogical integration of ICT in sports programs constitutes an innovative and effective strategy to boost integral development in contexts of socioeconomic vulnerability.

Vicmar Ivette Valladares Díaz, Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University

A graduate in Early Childhood Education from the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (2013), she currently holds a Level III teaching position (2017). Her academic background is complemented by updated training in the Human Rights of Children and Adolescents (2024) and knowledge of First Aid. At 37 years of age and residing in Mijagual, Barinas State, she possesses a profile geared towards comprehensive teaching and child protection, supported by a solid foundation of secondary education, having earned a high school diploma.
