Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present an enriching perspective on the implementation of the protocol writing technique proposed by Van Manen (2003) and to uncover aspects of convergence and divergence based on an exploration of academic papers and the author’s own research experience. This presents an analysis of eight articles, using the content analysis technique, and thus objectively identifying the specific aspects to track in the documents. An outline of the research entitled Relation of the subject to knowledge and school failure is also presented: A phenomenal vision with Colombian middle school students developed within the framework of the PhD in Education at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador UPEL; focusing mainly on the experience of applying the technique of protocol writing, the research is approached from an interpretative paradigm with a qualitative approach, whose method was the phenomenological hermeneutic. constant comparative method of Corbin and Strauss (2002) was used to analyze the information. Finally, a reflection is presented based on the two exercises developed regarding the use of the technique.

Nidia Alejandra Torres Penagos, District Education Secretariat, Bogotá (Colombia)

Nidia Alejandra Torres Penagos is a teacher by vocation and serves as the academic coordinator by choice at a public school in Bogotá, Colombia. She currently works for the District Education Secretariat, specifically at El Jazmín School. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Spanish Language and a Master's degree in Education, both from the Francisco José de Caldas District University. In keeping with her commitment to ongoing professional development and improving the quality of education, she is currently a doctoral candidate in Education at the Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University (UPEL), further solidifying a professional trajectory focused on pedagogical leadership and educational transformation.
