This article analyzes the transformative role of university management in consolidating social relevance in Venezuelan higher education institutions. In a context where universities are required to be more closely connected with local and national realities, management assumes a strategic role that goes beyond administrative functions to become a socially committed practice. A critical reflection is presented based on theoretical and documentary review, emphasizing contemporary approaches to educational management, university social responsibility, and institutional quality. It is argued that, to meet societal demands, universities must adopt a humanistic, participatory, and sustainability-oriented management model. Social relevance should not be understood as an accessory concept, but as a guiding principle of institutional planning, teaching, research, and outreach. From this perspective, university management becomes a cultural and educational transformation axis, linking institutions with social challenges and promoting integral education. The article offers a proposal of key dimensions for socially committed university management.
